Behind the Brews

At Fate Brewing Company, we believe every community deserves a place to gather, connect, and celebrate life’s best moments—whether it’s a new job, a growing family, or time well spent with good friends.

We first opened our doors in 2012 with a modest 7-barrel brewhouse and just 14 barrels of fermentation space at our original Tap & Barrel location in North Scottsdale. Though that original location has since closed, Fate has grown and evolved, expanding into larger spaces across the valley. Our South Scottsdale location (Scottsdale & McDowell), which opened in 2015, now houses a 15-barrel brewhouse and an impressive 270 barrels of fermentation space. We later opened our Tempe location (Mill & Southern) in 2019, followed by our newest addition in Uptown Phoenix (7th St & Camelback) in May 2023.

Over time, standout beers like Fateful IPA, Buena Vista Blonde Ale, and Fatality have become fan favorites and key players in the Fate lineup. Among them, our award-winning Candy Bar Milk Stout™—a silver medalist at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival®—makes a highly anticipated return each October.

At the helm of our brewing program is Adam Schmeichel, who’s been with us since day one. His creativity and craftsmanship have shaped the identity of Fate, striking the perfect balance between innovative brews and well-loved classics like Hatch Chile Gatos and, of course, Candy Bar Milk Stout.
